Hey guys, first let me say I sincerely appreciate any help. Tuesday I aquired a 65 Dart that is 70 % complete and in great shape. In order to finish the project I will repaint to the original puke yellow. I have spent much time attempting to decipher the vin. Here is what I have

Top Row 3-9, 8-5,
Second Row a-2, b-0,( These two make me think It was a 6 cyl) D5, E5, V-3, Z-2
Serial 702 06124
Body L42 (V-8 GT Car?)
Trm P4x (black)
Pain 881 B
Vin # on Door Jamb 52724622

Most of this I have figured out. However the car has a 273 in it. The casting #s are from 1964-1965. I have been unable to locate any additional #s. Have been told the Engine is original to the car but need to verify. Plus, some of the vin tag info leads me to believe it came with a 273 but the second row a-2, b-0 leads me another way. Hence my confusion. The rear of the car does have the oval cut out above tail pipe.

Any and all insight would be greatly appreciated. I am attempting to get this car ready for the Oct Vegas Auction, but am not generally in the restoration business.

This may help, Do you have a fender tag or build sheet? If so you can find out everything it had when it left the factory.
