Default In a pickle, 340 dart sport

Ok, so i'm in a hole right now. Earlier today i was doing some looking around for some bucket seats and a 360 block for my 74 duster and I happened to stumble upon a 73 dart sport. I've never been to fond of the front of them, but it just so happened that this one had a 340 auto in it minus the heads, intake and carb. Back in the day apparently while it was on the drag strip it let loose and the valve smacked the piston, ****ing both the piston and head. Big deal, I would most likely stick TRW or kieth black pistons in anyways. Body was fixable, rusty and dented but not unrepairable. the hood was in good condition, dual snorkel hood scoop included. and the vinyl top was ripped off. Front Buckets were there but in poor shape and no back seat. i beleive this was the only year for the dart sport to offer the 340. and the 340s are pretty rare themselves, ecpecially in the original car.
his other dart sport was originaly a 360 4speed car. however the interier is gutted and it is starting to rust beyond my ambition. it does have some usable parts such as front discs i could stick on my duster and suspension, Bumpers etc.

Obviously i asked if he would be interested in selling the 340 dart. $3000 for that car and another dart sport he had.

I was also interested in an 85 ramcharger he had. I had been looking for one for a while to put my duster away for the winter. 360, runs but carb leaks. $300 obo

Im thinking of offering him $3000 for all 3, anyone think this is too much or should i go ahead and gather some money together?

Sounds a little high- try offering 2500 for the whole deal. 3000 wouldn't be too far out of line if he won't budge. You are correct in that the only year the Dart Sport was available with a 340 was '73.

Be careful of the 74 360 4 spd, they had a externally balanced flywheel and a steel crank. You put a non balanced flywheel on that engine it will shake your fillings right out of your head. They are hard to find and very expensive. Just food for thought not trying to discourage you!
