Thanks, i tried .02 at first, then .016 and moved to a tight .018 and it seemed to do the trick

Heck, back when I was setting points we used match book covers (.017-.020")when we didn't have any feeler gauge available. [sm=smiley3.gif] Glad you got them set up.

My Roadrunner was burning points up left and right so I switched to the Mopar Performance electronic ignition conversion and that solved that problem. I also thought about a dual points distributor but that would just be twice the headache. Swap over to electronic so you don't need to worry, that or use the PerTronics igniter in place of the points if you want to keep a stock appearance.

I know the electronic iginition is the way to go, I’m just poor for now. But I will be looking into it. The stock appearance for the interior of the engine bay isn’t important to me, so I wouldn’t mind an overhaul. AND ive done the dual points before on previous projects – never ever again.
