By the looks of it, I'd say it's a very original and well optioned 340 car. The hood pins are not original, they are in the wrong place.

It is a 340 car, I ran the vin and checked the fender tag. The car is optioned out pretty well, buckets, disk brakes. The pins are not stock, it sucks too because the hood is in nice shape otherwise. No go wing or scoops. The nice thing is the the interior is near mint. It's a pretty solid project. Now If I can just convince myself not to change the color.

if you need any parts, hit me up. i bought a 72 demon last september, and i got a ton of extra parts...especially moldings. i also have a hood (plain), and trunk (drilled for a go wing), and some doors.
i believe that i also have an extra dash...and in going through the boxes a while back, i found a bunch of dart stuff too...lights and so forth.

I need doors, fenders, quarters, the dash I have is shot, I do need a hood and a trunk lid. the hood I have has incorrect pins, and the trunk is off a duster. Someone removed the correct scooped hood, and the correct deck with the go wing.

That trunk lid looks original, what mekes you think it's off a Duster? They are exactly the same, all I can tell you for sure is it is a '72 and up trunklid. Did the car come with the scooped hood, '72 didn't have the 2 separate scoops, they had 1 large one, and not all 340 cars were equiped with scoops and spoilers.

later this month, i will get to my storage garages and see exactly what i have, what i need for my car, and get pictures of what i dont need. i recall that i have 4 doors,a hood (that i am probably going to keep in case i dont use the FG hood), a trunklid, a dash or two (non rallye), at least 3 fenders...but they might be duster fenders. i seem to recall that the trunklid was in nice shape, and drilled for a go wing.

as soon as i know, ill let you know...it should be about a month.

If the fenders do turn out to be Duster, get me a couple pics and condition on them, I might be interested in them if they are the correct year, and not totally trashed.

Great post...glad you rescued that car. I can see where its tempting to change the color...especially considering all the work and money to repaint it...a new color would make it much more appealing (although not original). If it were my carI would probably go with sublime green/ white stripes. I have a friend with a top-banana yellow that looks great too. Great jobon your project!
