I have a 71 Dart with a stock 318 with a holley 2bbl 500 c.f.m. carb. and I have a ticking noise from the top end. It may possibly be lifters? Or could it be something else. If it is lifters are they adjustable. This is the first car I've ever owned with a V-8 so I don't know much about them. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

 

318 never came with ajustible rockers. But being a 71 some might have swaped in a set of 273 rocker.Back then you could get lucky and find a set. Only way to tell is remove the cover or look through the filler hole and see if they are stamped (stock) or cast (ajustible).

 

sadly, he is correct....there isnt a very good chance that your motor has adjustable rockers.
