I have the step one and two swirl remover and whatever the step two is of those 3 step things and was wondering if i could finish it off with some turtle wax color match polish. I did the step 1 and 2 on my cherokee and it made it really smooth and it looked amazing. I'm to poor right with college to buy the third step till summer. I was just wondering if it would be a good idea or not to put a coat of the turtle wax color match polish on after i do step 1 and 2 on my dakota. I know there is better waysand i will be trying them this summer but please only respond with answers to my question and not suggestions for other products. thanks for any help.

 

I believe the third step is their "cleaner wax" so any suitible wax you have will be OK

 

Mothers Step 3 is a pure wax not a cleaner wax. Step 1 is the cleaner (no wax) and Step 2 is a glaze (adds gloss). You can get Step 3 at Pep Boys (less than a couple gallons of gas).

I am sure the Turtle Wax is a cleaner wax so it would likely remove the step 2 glaze. The Step 2 is not going to last long since it is designed to be covered by a pure wax/sealant. However, if you have a choice of Turtle Wax or nothing you might as well use the Turtle Wax to protect the paint.

so should i just skip the second step you guys think or should i do 1, 2 then the turtle wax.

 

You only need to do Step 1 every other wax (like every 4 to 6 months) depending on your desires. It will not do any harm but not really necessary especially if you keep it waxed.

It would not hurt to do all 3 but you could experiement (half hood one way, half hood the other) to see if you see any visual difference.
