Default cleaning black trim

had an 04 durango that i used armorall on the outside black trim. with time it turned an 'ashee white', people told me they all do that in time. had tried 'back to black' from mother's...didn't restore it. now i have an 08 ram qc...what do you recommend to clean all that black trim? don't want to make the same mistake with it. thanks!

If the trim is dirty, I would use a small brush and car soap or an all purpose cleaner diluted. Meguiars make cleaner (#39?) that you may find locally. Be sure it is safe for plastics or usually not full strength. To keep it clean, you should use a protectant. There are a few good ones out there available OTC: meguiars (natural shine, #40, Gold Class), 303, Mothers.

I have no idea why Armor All turned it white if it was a protectant. Products that turn plastics white usually have petroleum distillants, etc so it sounds like you used the wrong type.

ashey white is normally wax in the surface of the black trim ... I scrub it out with 3M adhesive remover then a coat of Black wow ...

it's not wax, i know what you're saying. it's more a'weathered' look. didn't know if the armor all (which is white) done it over time time. looks like those pics in the black wow link. wanted something that will protect it better than armor all. looks like that black wow is some good stuff if i can find it. thanks!

I THINK it's mail order only ... I've never seen it in a store ... You use such a tiny amount (four pea sized drops ) to do an entire truck ...
