Not sure if it will work for tar but my wifes jeep had some tree sap on it for about 6mo. When I finally got around to taking it off nothing would touch it. I tried bug/tar remover, Goo Gone, and just about any kind of cleaner I could get my hands on. What finally did work was some of that clear Purell hand sanitizer they gave me in Basic training. Now I keep a bottle in my box of cleaning supplies.

basically the same thing as kerosene (our oil company told us we could use diesel fuel in our oil burner if they didnt get to the house in time to make a delivery before we ran out of oil )

Diesel fuel is what goes in a oil burner, kerosene is added to it to stop it from gelling up when it gets cold. You can run kero in a diesel truck or tractor, it just tends to run a little hotter. Not sure what it would do to the newer low sulfer diesels though.

I got my tires and other Auto part of my Dodge Truck today. They really have reasonable prices.
