I have a 99 Dodge Ram. There is a piece of black vinyl material between the drivers window, and the backseat windows. It has begun to crack and i have seen it happen on nearly ever 2000 and under dodge ive seen. Any solutions.

 

Probably will need to be replaced,

But I have no idea what it is or where to get it fixed. Its like a black film over the paint.

oh its the heavy black decal on the outside of the door. heatgun it off

 

I thought about removing it, but I talked about it with the Auto Body Instructor at my college. He said it would be best to just take it off and paint that area black if you liked the look.
