Default detailing

got a lot of brake dust build up on the truck itself. tried a clay bar. tried tarminator brand remover. neither work. any suggetions on getting the brake dust off

this is just on the rims correct? maybe try degreaser? like oomph/simple green? and a high pressure hose attachment and lots of elbow grease, then try a claybar and then a coat of wax.

I'm not real clear on what your challenge is -- if it's ferrous particles that have embedded in the paint, you might need an "aggressive" clay bar instead of one of the over-the-counter bars that are "mild" or "fine" and not meant for severe conditions.

You'll have to go to a shop with an excellent selection, order from a NAPA store, look online or Meguiar's Mirror Glaze brand offers a Professional Aggressive clay that should do the job and you might be able to get that at a paint supply house as well.

Clay Magic and S.M. Arnold are among others that offer an "aggressive" clay. Expect to pay $20+ no matter which brand.

You'll likely have to do some light polishing afterwards.

A photo or more details would be helpful.
