how to remove hard tar balls off paint?

Default how to remove hard tar ***** off paint?

the state was filling in a 4 mile long crack in the road with hot tar sprayed out of a long hose.I drove by the place they were spraying it out of the hose on the road 2 times and i have over 70 very small tar ***** on my dodge ram 1500 paint even on the roof..before i knew it was tar i picked some off the tar ***** off and now the paint came off in those spots ugh.the tar ***** are about the size of 2 pen tips and there hard.i used bug and tar remover and wd 40 and they dont work.what will get these hard tar ***** off my truck without taking the paint off???

PB Blaster sprayed on an rag, wipe then re-wax. Worked great for me.

ok I used pb blaster that didnt work only thing that took the tar off was gas then I washed and waxed right after.

Did the gasoline harm the paint?

No the gas did not harm the paint as soon as i used the gas to remove the tar I washed it.I had the sponge in one hand and the rag with the gas in another.then I waxed the truck when I was done.

Glad the gas worked.

Sometimes WD-40 or Goo Gone (not to be confused with Goof-Off which you shouldn't use), or mineral spirits or paint thinner (so long as it's cured paint) are preferred to dissolve such annoyances as tree sap and tar, as they don't have the additives in gas that can sometimes discolor finishes.

Wash the area, clay if you think it needs it and re-polish and protect with wax.
