Default Paint EDP Panels

I need some help on painting EDP panels. I know it stands for Electrophoretically Deposited Paint, but can I paint over it with a simple scuff and prep like I would bare metal? Or do I need to strip it anywhere I plan on painting such as the top of the hood and 3-5 inches from the edge on the bottom? I don't care if the underside remains black.

I plan on using PPG work line paint because it is just to fix damage after I hit a deer on my way to college and I can afford a 350 dollar paint job that everyone has quoted me. I figure on prep work, epoxy if needed, then 2k high build, then the base, then clear. If I dont mess up, I wont have to mess with too much orange peel. I hate that stuff.

Auto Metal Direct sells all their parts for classic cars with an EDP coating. I believe you grind or strip it off and then paint the bare metal.
