Sorry, it may have been polishing compound I used, I don't remember. My bad. I used this method a year and a half before my post, and I can't remember everything.

Check this site out, the Meguiars online forum is great to answer your detailing questions with great guy and gals to assist you like on this site.

This link is for tail lights but uses a general idea of how to polish tail lights and headlights.

I had my buddy use his polisher at a med. rpm range and use a buffing coumpound. Cleared them right up. then he sprayed them with a lary of clear coat and they look brand new...but hey the easy way out is to buy headlight covers.

This is what i just used and it worked great. Obviously it didn't make it look brand new but it helped alot.
