400 hp and boost?
Hey guys i dont belong on the diesel part of the forum but I was wondering if anyone knew how much boost you would have to be running at get 400 hp from a 2000 cummins motor? Its a little vague i know but i want to know for a discussion that is going on in another forum on the gassers side.
Hard to say is it a 12 or 24 valve?? I might be getting close with my 12 valve and i am only using 40lbs if boost right now ...exaust and intake make a big differance as well as injectors..
Opps sorry i did not see the 2000 so it is a 24valve so i am guessing when i am saying you would need a bigger pump as well as a good programmer and exaust to do it ...so my guess would be 50-60psi the thing is it all has to work together programmers ,turbo,injectors,intake,exaust..boost is just part of the problem to making power but it sure helps..

boost pressure has nothing really at all to do with hp.... its all how its delivered, we have a guy here that put almost 800hp to the tires on 38psi of boost
if some ous says i stacked these programmers and i noe have xxx amount of HP they have no clue what they r talking about, its uasually bout half what they think it is, a dyno is the only way to prove anything....
