Are you able to remove the dpf prior to the smarty install and egr delete.

 

You will need to have the smarty installed before you drive it or you'll end up with a check engine light. The egr doesn't HAVE to be removed as smarty shuts it off.

What many people recommend is installing the smarty right before you remove the dpf. That way if something should happen to go wrong with the software load, you won't be stuck with your truck apart.
