Im having a problem with my tach cutting out while driving at times. I just put a new injector pump in the truck to tave care of the no start concern with good results. The truck has 408574 miles on it and I want to take it to 500000 at least. It is a 2000 mod with a cummins in it and I have not been able to locate the pick up generator for the tach any help would be great.

 

On the 12-valves it's on the front of the engine, at about 10:30 in relation to the crank pulley.

 

My tach was cutting out for over a year and it finally gave out after took my wire harness off to inspect it, soon as I installed it again the tach quit working, I ended up finding a open wire between the firewall and transmission..
