Ok, so Ive replaced the auto shift solenoid on my 95 avenger 4cyl but when we tried to drive, it only made it like a block before it became un responsive.. It didn't die but pushing the gas peddle did nothing but rev it..

It starts fine but after about a minute or two of idling there is a kinda knocking sound coming from under the hood, and white smoke comes out the tail pipe also what looks like a lil water.. I really don't know much/anything about cars but I really do hope its fixable, that being said ANY input would be greatly appreciated.. THANKS
