I've got a 97 coupe Avenger with 175k and trying to remove the wheel hub. The spindle nut is a ball of rust and will not budge. I used blaster, a breaker bar with a 4 foot pipe and the car moved but the nut did not.

I'm thinking I may have to cut the spindle and replace the CV axle. Any suggestions are appreciated. Also, is it difficult to replace the CV axle? Are there any threads on replacing the CV axle?

 

I'd try to split the nut off ...
get a hacksaw blade and try to cut mostly thru both sides
or have you tried heating with a torch ?
I'm assuming you've soaked in penetrating oils ect (blaster)

you fail to mention what side as the axles are different
