Lastnight I got into the wife's caliber and went to put on the seatbelt (passenger side) and it is locked up. Unable to get enough slack to get the seatbelt on. Jiggling it doesn't even help, I messed with it for about an hour trying to get it to free up, but it wouldn't.
Have any of u had this problem? It's a 2007 Caliber R/T AWD with 10,600 miles on it. Guess I'll have to take it to the dealership in the AM.
I have over 22,000 km and have not experienced your seatbelt problem,
however the seatbelt in use switching mechanism is part of the spooler
mechanism(at least on drivers side) this could be hung up and I think
the dealer is best shot if it's under warranty.
Finally got it into the dealer. They tore it apart and couldn't figure it out. So they ordered a new one to put in. It is suppose to be here today so maybe get it fixed on monday.
Just to let you all know, the dealer installed the new seatbelt and everythings fine now.Not sure why it locked up like it did, no wrecks and the passenger side hardly ever gets used. Hopefully it was afreak thing.
