Default Volume fluctuation in Boston Acoustics sound system

Hello fellow Caliber owners!

Today, for the second time since I got my '08 Caliber: (purchased late Nov. 2007), I have experienced the volume go up & down by itselfwhen I have been listening to a CD. I have a single disc player with the Boston Acoustic sound package: (9 speakers/ including the liftgates) and while playing a compact disc, thevolume will go up and down a couple of notches continuously while playing. I have lowered or risen the volume myselfand it will do that again. The fluctuation isn't that much but I was wondering if anyone has had that happen to them. Also, living in Mn., I have had some static coming out of one of my door speakers when its' been really cold&first starting out with a cold car. I have turned off the radio and waited for the car to warm-up. After doing that awhile, I turn the radio back on and the static is gone. Anyone have that experience too? Any feed back concerning these two things I've experienced would be appreciated! All in all, I just love my Caliber!

Thanks, CalMAN57

If you have steering wheel controls there may be a problem
with the volume control, some owners have posted funny things
happening to their radios when those controls have a problem.

Thanks, bigtsr!

I have had this car a little over 3 months and this has only happened only a couple of times. Yes, I have the steering wheel controls with my sound system. The volume fluctuations have only happened when a CD is playing. Now today, I played two CDs and this quirk didn't take place. I don't know!

Thanks, for your response!

Could it possibly be the cd's that are the source i.e. recording levels?
Does it always happen on the same cd's?
