So I was looking at the Dodge website and I found this haunting image that almost made me crap my pants...



I can't say I don't like the way it looks but I am SO glad that they didn't call our Caliber an Avenger. I hated that name with a passion.
What was it avenging? If it was virginity, then mission accomplished! That car had NO back seat room.

Hate to break it to you but the replacement for the Stratus will be called the Avenger. That Avenger concept that you have shown was supposed to be larger than that. It was supposed to have the Chrysler 3.5L 24 valve V6, instead of being a economy sized car with I4s. The styling might be similar, but I wouldn't exactly say they were planning on calling it the Avenger in the first place.

 

Everything but size and engine came from the ideas from the Avenger concept. So yes, basically, the Caliber is a toned down Avenger concept.

But no, the Caliber is not an Avenger replacement. How are you figuring that? It is infact the Neon replacement.

The mid-size SUV called the Nitro that TUNDRA_schumacher posted was never called the Avenger.
