Default Still Can't Decide...

So I'm sort of in the market for my first new vehicle. I say sort of because I'm babysitting my mom's truck while she's in India for a year. So I don't wanna leave her vehicle just sittin around collectin dust. The truck's a 04 crew cab chevrolet 2wd...nice truck and not terrible gas mileage considering the size of it. And I was considering getting something of similar size for a long time, but lately I guess gas prices have made me reconsider. That's why I've been on the forum reading about the Caliber for a while.

While it's not exactly something I would've considered purchasing a few months ago, I've got to look realistically at things. It's a cheap vehicle, not in build or quality, but in price. And for the looks, which I personally think are good, I can't find another vehicle on the market that can match it. I think my only concern is the comfort of driving. I'm not a humongous guy, but at 6'3", sometimes it's difficult for me to be comfortable in a car or smaller suv. And I've read posts on this forum from people at or around my height saying they have no problem, and I guess the only way to tell is to test drive it first.

Another thing that doesn't greatly concern me, but makes me wonder is just how big is the cargo area? Cubic feet doesn't help me, I just would like some normal dimensions. I haven't been able to find any. Reason I ask is I like a little (or a lot) of thump in my music and I would like to have plenty of room to put a couple or three subs back there and still have storage for a few things...mainly groceries which I don't buy a lot of.

And lastly, what the hell is an airconditioner bypass? I've played around with the equip and price link at dodge's website quite a few times, but I can't figure out what that is. Any help, comments, advice....whatever is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hey foreverconfused,
I'm glad to hear that you've considered the all new Dodge Caliber...that's awesome [sm=smiley20.gif]

The air-conditioner bypass means, that at this time, there is not an air-conditioner installed in the vehicle, however the vehicle is equipped with all the 'hook-ups' for adding air-conditioning later in the future.

If you have any other questions, let me know, I'll be around
