Default Anyone with Diesel Caliber?

Hi,

I had only look at the caliber in the Lisbon (Portugal) Auto Show...

so... no test drive yet... nothing.

the only info I´ve got is on the web.

I would like to know if any of you have a Diesel model... or knows someone that have one?

any experience... test drive...

thank you,

fLAVIO

fLA- the Diesel World Engines that are being used in the Caliber do not have an expected date of arrival here in the states, so unfortunately, I think you would be hard-pressed to find too many people (if any) on this board that would have driven one!

What did you think of the Caliber? Is this your first time seeing a Dodge product in person?

not the first...
don t forget the Viper.. ehehehhehe

but as an affordable product.. yes!!!

Ironicly... Today my wife had an car accident... nothing much... but.. the car was bumped in the rear and has stoped in the next car...
It seems that "maybe" the caliber.. will arrive sooner (I hope)

thanks for the answer... but since dodge is almost doing its "premiere" in Europe...
its very hard to me.. to have some "in-real-life-person" feedback.

Thats why I joined the Dodge forum... even having an Ocean between us.

one of the choice is because Dodge has mada a good choice to the diesel engine (VW).
I ´ve now for almost 10 years of 1.9L TDI engine.. some experience.
and it is reliable...
I hope it stays in the caliber so.

(next week, I was told by the local dealer that they will probably have one to test drive)

My choice, for the moment is... yellow (after seeing one of the user pictures), black interior (if possible), manual 6 speed... and I don t know anymore detail about "option" for it.

cheers,

fLAVIO

I hope your wife is okay! Best of luck to her!

As I said in another post, I got a chance to drive the R/T (Thanks WOOSH- if you're reading this!) with AWD the other day (Weds evening) and I was pretty impressed. I think you're right the stick/manual will be even more fun to drive over there! I'll be curious (I'm sure others will too) to see what your impression of the "new" Dodge brand will be as a continental European (Viper aside).

Have fun!

thanks its "nothing"...
she is now.. a little hurt but no injuries.

for the rest I will leave you all the feedback possible.

one of the "good" thing about beeing a VW TDI engine.. is that there is in europe a lot of experience in those engine.
and a lot of solution for remap "ECU", since its a turbo charge engine... for the 136hp and 310NM... easy to get 160 or 170hp and 370/380NM...
and then is even more fun.

cheers, fLAVIO

Sorry the late answer
Got one last June2007 ( dealer AMX Seixal, Portugal) and I'm very impressed for its power.
Thesuspension very soft, so itsn't a race car, but very confortable even in bad roads or off-road.
The 2.0 TDI is powerfull enough for the it's height (1.5 ton) and you can see rpm increasingvery fastfrom 1700 to 3000 even in 6th gear.
On the other hand, the interiorcould havea bettermaterial (replacing thatcheap plastic), and the trunk cover could hide better things inside.
The glove box in very good, with a place for 4x0.5l bottles, and refrigerated.
Have been at the dealer, last week (7500km), for a fluid levels check: neededaround 0.25l of oil (less than I was expecting).
Next time (15000km) will tell them to stop the few noise it has.
By now, very happy with it.
