RE: A very strange leak.....
There are 4 sunroof drains in the Caliber 1 in both "A" pillars and 1 in both "B" pillars.
There have been posts ever since the car came out about blocked and kinked
drains for the sunroof and one of the first places you see evidence is water
in the map lights above the rearview mirror.
The drain for the AC evaporater is another source of interior moisture, again it's a hose
from evap drip/drain tray that exits thru the firewall near the gas pedal.
Recently an owner from the east coast had his Caliber in for leaking and it was found that
at the point where the front fenders attach to the cabin structure and wiring looms
pass thru to interior the sealing had not been properly applied allowing water
penatration at the bottom of the "A" pillars at the footwell areas.
Two other posts have indicated the front air intakes at the base of the windshield
had filled with water in heavy rains and the drains associated with that area
were clogged with leaf debris causing the water levels to leak into the air
path and then the front floor areas.
Hope this gives you a few places to check, there haven't been a lot of posts of leaks
in the 196,000 Calibers made to date but if it happens to you then it's important.
