Default "Frenchy" review inside

Last sunday I saw the review of Dodge Caliber at the M6 (french cable channel)
the show called "TURBO"

they have a website:
www.turbo.fr

review page:

http://turbo.m6.fr/cms/display.jsp?id=p2_261901

using the Google translator (below) :

The American brand attacks with the old man contains and his most competing market. The segment of the type C indeed gathers the compact trucks such as Mégane and the 307, but also small the monospaces with in particular Scénic.

Dodge Caliber is what one calls a Over Cross-country race, i.e. a mixture of station-wagon, truck and SUV. Manufactured on the American ground, but with a schedule of conditions intended for Europe, it will have motorizations diesel. Essential to hope to make career on our side of the Atlantic!

Aesthetically, it is the shock of the cultures. To be precise, discretion is not the fort of this new Dodge. Impressive Calendre, muscular line the following the example of of its engine cowling and its central, rims of 18 inches out of aluminium, back vein with stop sharp…. With final, the charm acts, and the strong personality of Caliber finishes by you making crack.

The cockpit, on the other hand, does not play completely in the same category. In spite of its two-tone interior of the most beautiful effect, the completion does not answer the European standards. The hard plastics of the instrument panel as well as the approximate completions (apparent screws in particular) are unworthy of the ambitions of the brand.

The approval of control, very typified US, invites to quiet control. Its too flexible suspensions generate important rolling and a vague direction.

Lastly, with dimensions engine, several blocks are available. We tested the diesel version, and the verdict is without call. Sharp and effective, this engine does not have anything to envy competition.

Proposed with a very competitive price, Dodge Caliber is available starting from 15.990 euros for the motorizations gasoline and 19.290 euros for the diesel!

Have the Caliber anti-roll barr mounted in front and rear?
is there a suspension kit available for it?
(or is the caliber suspension compatible with another model?)
is there new coil springs available for it?

cya,

One of my forum members in France was telling me about this. He said in a nutshell that they said certain aspects were cheaply made (mainly the interior), but over all they liked the car very much.

It sure does look a helluva lot better than some of the those little POS shoeboxes on wheels that they have over there. Some european cars are just plain FUGLY and totally useless for anything beyond straight going from point A to point B. It has better features, more power, competitive pricing, and fairly good gas milage. If people over there can get beyond it being an American car, or thats its NOT a luxury car, then I just might do well over there.

I just spent a week in the UK driving a Peugot 407 POS. The car was impossible to get in and out of, handled myopically, and sucked up diesel. The diesel performed pretty well, lots of low end torque. The interior was nice looking, but uncomfortable for me. The speed control was a speed limiter, so it was weird. You set it, mat it, and never go over the pre-set speed. VERY DANGEROUS!. If you wanted to pass after slowing down after going through a town you had to disengage the system manually. If you forgot, and started accelerating, you'd stall at the previous selected speed. The interior controls were also VERY confusing. lights, A/C, heat, radio were a nightmare to figure out.

So much for the French knowing about cars.
