Default Engine Knocking and Date of MFG

I have been reading a lot of post on this forum and other about the engine knock. I bought my caliber the end of May. I tired reasearching my vin for date of mfg but couldn't find the date. Is there a way to find the month and day of production. Does any one know if the later calibers have the engine noise or has DC already flashed the engines. I have just over a 1,000 miles on it and have heard no noises from engine that resemble a knock. I do have the exhaust noise though, that however doesn't bother me.. I was reading on Edmunds.com a guy has had his caliber to the dealer 5 times and only had 2100 miles on it, DC bought it back. Any info on the engine noise and the date of MFG is appreciated.

Check on the side of the driver side door. Most cars will at least tell the build month and year on a sticker. Sometimes its near the tire pressure sticker on the side of the door.

Wow, if I could be any more blind. The date of MFG is on the drivers door. Anyway mine was mfg'ed on 05/06...and it still has the exhaust noise, guess DC's clean point is after the 05/06 date period.

Mine was also built in 05/06 and I don't have the exhaust noise. I thought that the correction date was 05/1/06? I read that in this forum somewhere...
