Default Turn signals

Hello all. I'm too a proud owner of a Caliber. I love this thing.

Well on to subject line.
I have the driving light opt. and who thinks it wierd that the headlight turns off when signaling. It make it look like the bulb was allready burned out.

This is the normal operation for daytime running lights on this vehicle.
Don't know why I can only guess that this way the turn signal is more visible in the day time.

I'd really like to have the daytime running lights put on my Caliber, so I'd like to know, when you turn on the turn signal- does one headlight go out, or both? And does it do it when you just touch the signal to pass? My old Blazer had them, and I loved them, but they never went out when you used the turn signals. I've never heard of that. Maybe it is more visible in the day. I'll just have to think about that. Any info on this would be greatly appreciated.

Just the one headlight goes out. I would say this is just a feature to catch people's eye more than anything. Maybe the turn signal isn't very visible so they decided to do that.

GREEK FROM THE SERVICE MANUAL

OPERATION
The Canadian cluster provides steady illumination of the front turn signal when the ignition switch is in the ON
position. The Daytime Running Lamp (DRL) function may be inhibited by activating the turn signals, the hazard
flashers, the headlamp switch, or park brake.

I haven’t noticed the headlight going off yet when I use the blinker but I did discover when you put the parking brake on the daytime running lights go off.

A problem I seem to have is I frequently turn the brights on when trying to put my blinker on. Is anyone else having that problem?
