I finally have a ship date...
So after ordering my 5-spd SXT during the first week of June, I've been playing the waiting game just like everyone else. It was on a "materials restriction" for a few weeks because I guess Dodge didn't have the goods to produce the car and whatnot. But yesterday I called and they gave me a ship date of this Friday, the 28th. Should I take that as a promising sign, or is it a crock of sh*t like many other things Dodge has been telling me? Should I expect to be waiting another month and half?
Confirm the new information by calling again, hopefully you will talk to someone different. If the person you talk can reiterate the same information you received the first time, then I would say the information is promising. I've had this same situation happen to me already. They gave me a ship date, ship date came and went, no car. Called again, only to find out that my Caliber hasn't even been built yet. Talk about a big let down. Ordered my Caliber 5/1, as of 7/10 still in BX status, with no build date in sight. As for waiting, I'm constantly looking out at other dealerships, hoping they get a Caliber in that has the features I want. As for the color, I really don't care anymore, I just want a new car now! Tired of this waiting BS...[:@]
Hi rockstar2484...
Congratulation's on your new purchase
An estimated time that DaimlerChrysler has provided from ordering a new vehicle to the delivery date is approximately 8-12 weeks. Your local dealership is the best source for timing information, due to, they handle the shipping and receiving part of the ordering process.
However, you can contact DaimlerChrysler Customer Assistance Center at 1-800-992-1997. They are accessible from Monday through Friday 8am - 5pm. Provide them with a VON (Vehicle Order Number) or the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number), and they are able to locate your vehicle and view what process it is in.
Let me know if there is any I can do.
