Default trouble with bluetooth connection

Hello everybody,
I'm in France and got my new Caliber recently. I have a trouble connecting my mobile with Uconnect.
My husband, who's got a Mio GPS/mobile managed to do his connection, but with my Samsung SGH-D500E no way.
A friend of us who's also have the same Samsung has the same problem.
Does anyone heard about a trouble to connect the Samsung's mobiles?
Thanks a lot for your precious help.
By the way, we found answers to several of our questions thanks to this forum. That's really great to find help this way!
Hélène

Yes I know, my Samsung does Bluetooth, of course.
So, anyone has an idea, please?

Have you verified that the Bluetooth works on your Samsung? Perhaps trying it with a Bluetooth headset or something.

Another possibility, just because the phone says bluetooth, DOESN'T mean that Bluetooth is turned on, you have to TURN ON Bluetooth on many phones.

Hi Helene, I had some difficulty at first as well. Not all phones with bluetooth will work with uConnect. The Caliber manual does not even mention how to use it for that matter. I got a 2006 Jeep manual from the dealer and copied over 20 pages out of it explaining all of the features of uConnect. The web site was no help. You will have to check the web site for uConnect at www.chrysler.com/uconnect and as you read through the site you will find an opportunity to get the list of tested and approved cell phones. The cell phone needs to be equiped with Bluetooth Hands Free Profile version 0.96 or higher. You can check the properties of your own phone and see if it meets that minimum. Hope this helps. BTW, reading this stuff you people have placed on the various threads has been an adventure to say the least. Enjoyable. This is my first post and fronm what I have seen so far...there are more to come.
