Default Retail Value Adjustment?

Have any of you that have actually gotten your new Calibers had a tag that went with your window sticker that said something to this effect on it? Or, is the dealer I found my car at trying to rape me? The MSRP on the window sticker was $22,365; and then there was this tag that said to adjust an additional $895! So I am paying $23,260. Anyone else experience this?

Pure rape, they are independent and can charge more than the factory suggests, but most responsible dealers won't do that. Your dealer is shady and crooked, and is just trying to make more on the car than they should.

They add on the environmental package which is a bunch of crock.

I'd say it some kind of dealer ad-on.

It is my understanding any dealership can sell any vehicle at any price they want. MSRP is merly a suggestion, and not an estimate as to what the dealers should sell the vehicle for. If the dealers wanted to, they can totally disregard the MSRP and jack the price to whatever they want, $3000, $5000, $8000 over the MSRP if they wanted to. Correct me if I'm wrong guys and gals! This also works the other way too. This is the main reason consumers should always look at many dealerships before one makes a final choice. Also, note communication is essential! Ask as many questions as possible! Even if you can't think of any more, grab a pencil and paper, start jotting down questions you can use when visiting other car dealerships. Lastly, in my opinion of course, its a really good policy to have someone with you while shopping for a new car, or anything serious at that matter! Chances are there might be something you overlook, where your partner might be able to pick up and inform you of. In your case, the Environmental package you simply over looked. I guess there many ways at going about this. These are my two cents anyway, take it anyway you want it!

I work at DC headquarters, the 1st dealer I went to wouldn't honor the employee price, and wanted $1,000 over MSRP.I bought a car at another dealer who honored ehe employee discount and we haggled down the list price.Just shop around, sometimes these cars are hard to find, just keep looking.
