I'm Gonna Get My Car - FINALLY
Yesterday I managed to track down the email of the GM at my dealership. I sent him an email expaining that I was very unhappy with the 16 week wait I have been through so far. I got a response with 10 minutes and had a very lengthly phone call with him. He explained that he is upset as well because he has been fighting with DCX because they owe him Caliber allocations for taking on excess inventory earlier in the year. He said he was going to make some phone calls and see what he can do, and if he could, my order would be the next to get built. I got a call today that my car will be in D1 this afternoon and will be built and shipped by the end of the week. The GM will continue to update me on where my car is. He estimates about 10 days to ship to Canada.
I can't wait. This is so exciting. I'm so happy that my car is finally being built. I will definately have lots of pics for you all once it arrives.

The Caliber will be built in about a day once it starts. Then its held for about 3 to 5 days to go through quality control (aka Audit). Then it takes approx a week to ship to the dealer. So you should have it in a couple of weeks. Keep in mind that there is a holiday coming up so that may hold up your Caliber somewhere along the lines with either build, auditing, and/or shipping it.
Just to give you an idea of how long to wait, my Caliber was built on August 11/12 (nightshift). It was shipped out from the assembly plant via rail (Union Pacific) on the 21st of August and it just picked mine up today (8/29). So it will be about 3 weeks roughly depending on how long it takes to travel via rail. The dealership nor Chrysler has any control over how long it takes to ship via rail as its a 3rd party company thats under contract with DCX. So if they want to hold it in a railyard somewhere for a week or 2, they can do it and there's nothing really anyone can do about it. Hopefully they won't do that with yours.
But anyways... Congrats!
