Default Engine Block Heater Installation

For all you northern state folks that own a caliber, if you didn't get the block heater stock with the car and you need one, they are exceptionally easy to install, no need to pay the mechanic for this one, no tools required, except for scissors to open the package.

The block heater doesn't install into a water passage like common, they instead just clip into a hole in the side of the block, and are held there with a clip. you can then run the cable around the side and fasten the plastic clip to a strut bolt that sticks out to hold it in place, although I did zip tie mine anyhow. Here are some pictures or the whole procedure, less then 3 minutes start to finish, and that includes popping the hood. There were no instructions with the unit when I bought it.

The hole for this is very hard to see, you may have to feel around, i would recommend waiting for the car to cool down. once you find it, it just snaps right in.

And for those who believe their Cali came with the BH and you can't find the plug.. It is wrapped up and tucked in out of the way 2/3 of the way from grill to windshield near the driver side fender.
