My '07 SXT came with the factory sound system, which I have to say really isn't so bad. I don't have any experience with car audio at all and I was hoping to get a few suggestions for some upgrades. I don't want a $700 stereo system or anything, just some suggestions for speaker upgrades and amp/sub. Any thoughts?

 

There is already a Kicker speaker upgrade kit made just for the caliber, check out the Mopar super store

 

I was the told that the music gate sound system was only done from the factory and that it isnt for sale after market yet.

As far as I know, the MusicGate Premium Sound System can ONLY be installed from the factory, its NOT an aftermarket option. Its not listed on MOPAR's website and an accessory for the Dodge Caliber.

Honestly, I would have just looked for a Caliber with the MusicGate installed. Now days, they're everywhere.

 

put an amp with 2 12's and 900 watts and all your problems are solved. it will rock your *** off and the people at the stoplight with you.

if it doesn't take you to the correct spot go to caliber and you should see the kicker speakers. I believe these are a upgrade to the base sysytem, direct bolt in replacement for front and rear doors.
