Default ipod question

first off, hello to all...i have been reading this forum for about a month now and have really appreciated all of the insite that it has given me about the Caliber...a lot of what i have read here is what has started the wheels rolling on purchasing one....
that said, i am looking at getting a R/T AWD with the music gate system...
in looking at the dealership brochure i see an iPod adaptor, my question is, will that adaptor hook up to the Caliber's factory head units? i know that there are 4 different head units, im looking at the 6 disc player and not the DVD unit...and i don't want to use the Aux jack just because, i don't...the cord would be sticking out and just look tacky in my opinion...
thanks again for all the help from the other forums and with this one!

Default RE: ipod question

I believe there is an iPod Integration Kit that you can now buy for nearly any Chrysler vehicle including the Caliber. Also, I believe you need to have one of the upgraded radios to use the iPod integration kit as the standard radio isn't compatible with the integration kit. I myself just opted for the standard radio and I use the Aux input which works great for me. When its not in use, I just put the double ended 1/8th inch cord in the center console so its no biggie to me.

I have no idea how much the integration kit costs, nor how hard it is to install. Thats something you might want to ask the dealer or dealers if your dealer is uninformed about those kinds of things.
