Hello all! I was researching info and user reviews for the Caliber, and came across this site.

I have a few questions for the Caliber owners on here, if you all don't mind.

1) I want to get a manual transmission, but haven't seen any on the lots to test drive one. Does anyone have a manual, or at least some info on any performance differences between the manual and CVT?

2) I want an SXT, silver metallic, leather (heated) seats, six-disc CD changer, aluminum wheels, and the above mentioned manual. Since the preferences I have (especially manual) would require me to order one, what kind of wait time do you think I would be looking at if I ordered this month? Do you think the wait time is worth it to get my preferences?

3) I've read some people have issues with blind spots...any opinions?

Thanks everyone!

Welcome to the forum
Haven't driven one with a stick, but I'm sure someone who has can help you out on that one. As far as ordering goes, it took a few of these guys quite a while to get thiers.

I have a Silver SXT 1.8 manual and I love it. I had to look around for it by doing a build and price on the Dodge site then checking area dealers. The closest dealer I found was Two hours away, bought it on the phone and they delivered itot my door.I bought the manual for gas milage since my daily commute is about 100 miles round trip getting around 40 miles to the Canadian gallon. I can tell you they are building them faster than they were around 1100 a day but have had some parts problems which has caused delays in some orders and our local dealers all told me no one was asking for manuals so they don't order them.

Thanks for the welcome and the info.

I test drove a Caliber yesterday with the CVT and would prefer the manual. Tonight I got a call from the salesman at the dealer and he told me that, through locators and dealer to dealter trades he could make, the closest manual he was able to find was about 500 miles away. But, it was an SE model, red (I've had two red cars, want something new) no leather, no A/C, and steel wheels.

Anyone who has ordered and waited for their dream Caliber....is it worth the wait?
