Default Rear Defroster Bug?

Has anybody noticed that the rear defroster sometimes turns itself off? This has happened to me on a couple of occasions. I'm driving and suddenly notice that the little orange light had turned off. Is this a bug or somekind of automated feature?

I have the same thing. my guess is that it is an automated thing that turns it off after a preset time.

All the Chrysler products I have owned have had timed or thermostatic
shutoffs on the rear window defrosters, these units draw a lot of current
and it could be safety driven feature.

Mine turns off also. I suppose it only takes so long to melt some ice so there would be not much point in having it on past this point as by then the inside of the car would be warm anyway...
