Default Parking lights stay on

The parking lights on my friends Caliber stays on after the car is shut off and the headlight dial turned off (O). You can hear the ding sound when the door is open. I'm guessing it's a problem with the switch. Has anyone heard of this happening?

Sounds like a bad ignition switch or door pin switch. I'm betting ignition switch.

I have the same problem. To get the lights off, just turn them off before shutting the car off. It doesn't solve the door dinging problem though. That usually just persists. Sometimes, if another door gets opened, it'll stop, but it's no sure fire way of getting the dinging to stop.
