Cold Air Induction
For those who have hopes of installing CAI on their Calibers
K&N air filters is showing a product called "Air Charger"
on their website complete with very good instructions
that is worth looking at as it seems to take in the concerns
expressed about heat soak in the engine compartment.

I didn't understand that post either, but again maybe it's because I am old and sane!
Any way here's a pic of Caliber SRT4 under hood notice where they pick up
cold air for turbo.

No Caliber SRT4 is not availiable to purchase as of yet although
a number of factory test machines have been seen at car shows
and at least one has been on the road ralley circuit as a test bed
(Newfoundland Targa Race).
They in all likelyhood will be on sale in the fall as 2008 models.
The picture in my post was to give all those who were wondering
how to accomplish Cold Air Induction in the tight confines of
the Caliber hoodline and was taken at a recent carshow in the US.

I haven't had any big problems with a performance loss due to heat soak using the mopar intake as it did make a noticeable improvement in power. The only complaint I've could say about it is that it is at least 3-4 times louder under mid to full throttle acceleration and with the CVT transmission it doesn't drop off like a regular intake on a 5 speed or auto trans does. Overall though I give it a thumbs up!
