Default Which kind of transmission fliud?

I have a 1998 Plymouth Grand Voyager with the 3.0L V6, I am wanting to change the fluid & filter, but I'm not sure exactly which fluid to use? I read that the 99 & older should use the ATF+3 is this correct or is there someting better to use?

i've been told by fellow tech and trans shop in town here to use mopar's own tranny fluid
and have with 140000km now on the van and the only problem was the speed sensor went
i don't know if i'm a lucky owner or just got a good tranny
but i'm sticking with what i've been told

Thanx for the reply, I'll wait & see what other reply.

Supposedly the tranny was changed 20,000 miles ago. So I think to be on the safe side I'm gonna change the fluid & filter. Just need to figure out the right tranny fluid.

ATF +4 is what supercedes the +3 and is what should be used. The standards for the +4 are apparently so strict that even walmarts brand is supposedly as good as MOPARs.
