2003 Grand Caravan : Tranny
2003 Grand Caravan; Transmission Cylinoid.
Hey guys, 1st post here on Dodge. Usually on the Chevy Forums. Helping a friend with his '03 Grand Caravan and his "wife" took it into a shop and was told that the tranny cylinoid was going bad and needed to be replaced. No complaints of slippage, grinding, or anything really specific. So it doesnt sound like theres any pressure loss from the cylinoid going bad.I forgot to ask if this shop attendant put ODBII to it and thats what threw the code or if he had the typical tranny shop xray diagnostic vision. ANYWAYS, if it is indeed the cylinoid, where doesChrysler/Dodge cram those? Is it exterior of the tranny or do I need to drop the pan? Or is it somewhere else that I as a Chevy owner would never think of ???? Dont hold it against me for driving GM's. Nobodys perfect.

u mean a SOLENOID Pack? They are external of the tranny and on the driver side with a black plug sticking out of it and an 8mm bolt built into it. 3 10mm bolts holding it on to the tranny. Remove the speed sensor and cooler lines to take the pack out.
