The light on the dashboard does not come on when I press the button on the steering wheel. It was working fine but doesn't work at all now. Any idea where to start searching?

First check all fuses.

 

Is the airbag light on, and does your horn work. If so The problem is the clockspring.cruise not working and airbag light and and horn not working are the sings of the clockspring, and if that the problem there is a recall on it. So just call you dodge dealership.

 

the recall is only for vans up to 2000 not the RS van. if the lights on the dash do not work so u say then the pcm is making sure that it does not come on. In other words something electeral is not kosher. Switch ,servo,pcm,wire things along that line. A dealer can tell u because it not working like that will have a code in some computer.
