I am new to this forum and need your help.

I have a 2000 Caravan SE and am the second owner. First owner took great care of the van and maintained it very well. Everytime I start it up, I smell gasoline pretty strong. I have taken it into the dealer who said they found nothing wrong. Is it just me or does the 2000 Caravan have this problem. Any help would be great!

Does the gas smell occur when the tank is at or near full? My Dad had a 1990 GC that had this problem after the dealer replaced the fuel filter which is located in the tank. After replacing the filter, the mechanic at the dealer forgot to replace the gasket which caused fuel to leak when it was full or near full!

 

give me the last 8 of the vin there is recalls for the fuel rail for that minivan. 895 where the seals leak on the outer edge.
