My brother in law blew his 3.0 in a 99 or 00 caravan. The mech tells him that only an engine from that year will fit $$$$. He says the sensors are different. I have one from an '89. Is it actually different, can the sensors be changed without tap & thread? Or is it just garage BS?

I once put a '75 350 into a '85 Jimmy. All that I had to change was the intake and oil pan... and the sensors weren't a big problem. Nothing a little pipe bushing couldn't fix.
