hello folks,i was wondering if my van (a 2003 grand caravan with 4 speed automatic....having 115000kms) would have a problem towing a 5'/10' cargo trailer total weight of the trailer and load would be approx.2000lbs,also in the van i will have two adults and four kids(oldest 12)total weight in the van would be approx 900lbs. i have a class 2 hitch with 2inch ball i recently installed a tranny cooler in series with the already exisiting one mounted right to the grill.the tranny seems to be working and shifting fine in all forward gears,however when the vehicle is parked on a steep grade the tranny seems to hesitate in reverse,almost like a shudder,but when i press on the accellerator hard it backs up fine....the shudder is only present when backing up with only slight accellerator pressure.....any insight or opinions would be greatly appreciated

 

the shudder is normal on any dodge transmission.. my caravan does it.. my ram does it.. as far as the towing.. its not something i would do to MY caravan.. to each their own.. cant say for sure if it would work or not... seems to be a but much to haul on a regular basis.. for long trips.. might be a good idea to put some trailer brakes on it too.
