Trouble Codes, 97 Caravan; Can I Reset Without a Scanner?
The following question must have been asked many times but I could not find an answer by searching this forum.
Is there any way that I can reset them if I do not have a scanner?
I can read trouble codes by watching the Service Engine Now light blink.

disconnect battery neg. terminal.. and then turn key on... leave for about 10-20 min.. shut key off.. hook up batt. and it should be off... always worked for mine... other than that.. u can pick up a cheap obdII scanner now for like 40 bucks
Thank you for your reply.
The Haynes manual for the 96 through 200 Caravan says, on page 6-6, under Clearing Codes, that if the battery is disconnected to clear codes, operating parameters will be erased and the engine will run rough for a time until the Power Control Module relearns the parameters.
Have you experienced that effect?

I've had to disconnect the battery many times for various reasons, and the engine and trans do operate a bit differently for just a few miles, but I wouldn't call it rough by any means, and it learns so quickly that you'll forget about it in a minute or two.
