Default 1993 Caravan engine rev problem

Hello,

I have a 1993 caravan with the 3.3L V6. It has about 125,000 miles and until recently it has been a great vehicle. Within the last 2 months when you are driving there is a loud thump and the van will lose speed. The engine revs as though it is in nuetral and the ABS and E-brake lights both come on. Sometime pulling over and turning off the van and restarting will solve it but sometime it won't. Seem s to happen both when cold and hot and seems to have no real pattern to it. I am at a real loss to explain it and have no idea what the heck is going on. PLEASE help!

Thanks
Matt

I've never had this happen but it could be a transmission sensor.Check this before doing anything expensive.
I recommend getting a shop manual if you plan on keeping the van for awhile. They give a lot of info as to where things are located and instructions for R&R procedures.About $20 at an autoparts store.
