I have a 2000 GC with 98000 miles and the brake lights have stopped working. I have running lights, blinkers and backup lights all working, but no brake light. I checked all 9 of the bulbs, this includes the third center light, I have also checked the fuses in the engine compartment and under the dash, they test ok with a DVM using resistance testing. I did look at the brake switch but don't know the pin outs to test, or how to go about that procedure. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

got it fixed. found a wiring diagram at the local library and traced the problem to a bad brake pedal switch. $21.oo dollars and i'm back on the road.
