01 Grand Caravan Fuel Tank Removal
I've been chasing a no start issue off and on for a while now and I've narrowed it down to the fuel pump. To verify it was the problem, I removed the fuel line after the fuel pump and filter and had someone turn the key on while I watched how much fuel came out of the line. The pump turned on for a second, like normal, and the fuel just barely dribbled out. My next step is to remove the fuel pump and find out what's blocking the flow. I had some trouble removing the tank and couldn't find any instructions posted anywhere.
Does anyone know where I can find some good instructions on the fuel tank and fuel pump removal?
Any help will be appreciated!!

OK, I finally had a little free time again. I crawled under the van, got the connectors removed with a little extra persuasion, dropped the fuel tank and pulled the fuel pump. It looked real clean and the screen didn't look clogged at all with no visible dirt or debris.
Next, I turned the key on and hooked a meter up to the fuel pump connector. I checked all four pins and it showed no voltage on any of them. I want to know what pin gets power so I can put voltage to it and test the pump. I'm guessing there's a relay that only kicks on for 1 second to power the fuel pump and prime the fuel line before starting.
This began a couple weeks ago when the van was having starting problems. The starter would intermittantly just click instead of turning over. When it would turn over, it would just crank but not fire up. Only after several attempts, it would start to fire and eventually start up like it was starved for fuel. I replaced the solenoid contact points and fixed the starter clicking problem. When I turned on the key, I could hear the pump run for a second and stop, like it should. I got underneath and removed the fuel line after the filter and watched how much fuel came out when the key was turned on. It barely dribbled out. I replaced the fuel filter located above the fuel tank and it still won't start until numerous tries. Checked the fuel output after the filter and it still barely dribbled out.
If anyone knows the wiring on the fuel pump and relay, I'd really appreciate some help here.
Thanks

Well, it turns out the fuel pump relay only turns on for a second when the key is first turned on, like I suspected. I figured out the wiring by taking the fuel pump apart and the two outside wires are for the fuel pump and the inner two are for the fuel guage. I tested it and it would pump gas fine for a couple seconds and then it started pumping foamy gas like it has an air leak. I don't know if this is normal, it doesn't seem right to me. It has 1/4 tank of gas still in so it's not drawing air from being empty.
If anyone knows about this, I'd appreciate your advice. Maybe I'm going to have to quit being such a cheapskate and buy a new pump, but I hate to do that if I'm not sure it's the problem. Please help!!
