hi I have a 99 dodge caravan and the back hatch will not open with or with out the key I can hear it unlock but it wont open.... does anyone know what might make it do that and how can I fix it?

 

Is there anything caught in the backI had this problem with my caravan as a blanket got stuck in the latch mechinism I ended up taking it to the deaker they charged me 45 dollars to fix it if not my 01 gets stuck sometime so I have to hold the swtich down and then it will open you may have to try it several time as thats what I have to do
