off topic sorta I have a neon with a moonroof

Default off topic sorta I have a neon with a moonroof

I just bought a 97 dodge neon I know this is the caravan section but haven't got any responce from the neon board and there is a lot of excellent people on this board any way
I just bought a 97 neon with a power moonroof I don't know if it factory or not but its missing a switch and when I put a jumper wire from the hot to the two ground wire it sparks and blows the fuse anyone ever fix one before can you get replacement parts for them ect... any suggestions would be helpful

well.. any time you put a wire from hot to ground.. your going to blow a fuse.. its a givin.. thats what a fuse is designed to do.. you need to check all the wiring on it. and know what wires yoru toutching together.. my guess is.. the switch is gone.. because it doesnt work..

I figured that was probably why the switch was missing I figured it has one plug with three wires going to it 2 blacks and a red the red is hot and I assumed the other two actuated the window but like you said its a dead short so I am stumped at this point

could be the motor for it.. if its shot.. and shot bad enough.. i guess it could be dead grounded out... only way there should be a 'ground' on any of these 3 wires.. is if there is a light in the switch.. but if there is no light.. you should have power.. and when you push the switch one way it will connect power to one wire.. and vice versa... i would get a ohm meter and check to see if any of those are grounded

the dome light is behind the moonroof the switch is missing all that is there is a hole that I can pull the connector out of
